The return of normality and the Secret.

Well, I'd been told many times that puppies can be darned hard work and just like having a new baby in the house, but until I experienced it for myself, I wasn't prepared for how demanding it is. Thankfully, I have a good little chap who sleeps a lot and has learned quickly the words 'wee wee' means to head out to the garden.

After being with us for two weeks, he is now settling into a routine and we can all get back to a semblance of normal life. I'm even getting a few decent hours sleep, as puppies hate to be alone at night and don't see the point of wasting great lengths of time flat out asleep, unless it's sandwiched between meals and trips to the garden! Thankfully, Manchee has been persuaded that I actually like to sleep for a long time when it's dark and in return, he gets to sleep beside my bed with a hot water bottle!

As life begins to settle again, I'm finding now that other matters are pressing me for their attention. I'm clever aren't I? I've been distracting myself from dealing with them by having the more pressing issues with the puppy, but no more. I have to think ahead and decide where I'm going and what I want. A series of unconnected coincidences have led me to this book and DVD - The Secret. http://www.thesecret.tv/index.html

It's an interesting concept, and one that I've read about before, how this book differs from others remains to be seen. Is it the answer? well, I'll keep you posted, or check it out for yourself. I'll be interested to hear from you if you've read it or have any comments.

I read it and felt it was discriminatory. You can join "our" club if you believe in what "we" say and then good things will happen to you. Where have we heard that one before in the last few thousand years!! It left me with an uncomfortable feeling and seemed seperatist which to my mind is the precurssor or racism, sexism and all the other isms.

The puppy 'fog' is totally understood here, ours arrived just two days ago and I've really got nothing of substance done since :-D

Have not read The Secret but am intrigued, I'll be interested to see what you think.

I value your comment, Gingko, but after watching the DVD, I didn't get the same impression. I'm keeping my mind open for when I read the book.

Love puppy 'fog' K, it's so true :D

Hello Yarrow, I have never had a puppy but can imagine they can be quite a handful. He sounds like a delight and such a picture with his hot water bottle! I bought 'The Secret' when I saw it in a charity shop. I have browsed through it but can't really figure out what the secret is! I think I may have to revisit it. On the other hand I am on week 4 of 'The Artists Way' and kept up the morning pages every day so far. I am finding it a great help in keeping focused. x

Hi Yarrow! Apologies if you receive this twice! The puppy sounds delightful! I can imagine him all snuggled up with his hot water bottle. I bought 'The Secret' from a charity shop a while back. I have browsed through it but not really found what 'The Secret' really is! I think I will have to revisit the book. On the other hand I am on week 4 of 'The Artists Way' and managed to complete the morning pages every day so far. The book is really helping me to be focused. x

Yarrow - I saw the DvD as well and felt fairly invigorated by the premise of "what you put out, you get back." Thoughts become things, and I feel as though we are all connected, so why not send positive thoughts out instead of fixating on what we are afraid of?

You seem to be seeking balance in your life, as much as I am (out of kilter, mine is) and I think this is certainly a great start for you!
